New App Update: All About the Coins

Here we are, close to the end of the 2024-25 season! The NBA Finals tip off this week, and we’ve got lots of activities coming to celebrate them.

In the meantime…we’re rolling out the next phase of Endorsements! Say it with us: More. Free. Coins! Plus, two brand-new features make their debuts.

Let’s get into it…

Go Big: New Endorsements

In the last app update, we unveiled Endorsements, where your gameplay gets recognized and rewarded with an income stream of coins you can earn and store in your Vault.

Now, Endorsements turn pro, so to speak. While playing NBA 2K Mobile, you’ll catch the eye of top-notch sponsors offering rewards for your gameplay.

Throughout the season, brands such as Kia, New Balance and Gatorade will show up in the Endorsements section of the game. For a set period of time, you can elect to take part in the challenges associated with the brand’s Endorsement. Completing those challenges will earn you coins, which accumulate in your Vault for collection.

Endorsements with specific brands are purchasable, while others with non-brand names are earnable via places like the daily login (Day 28 reward), Rewind progression rewards, events, and themed Tourneys. The purchasable Endorsements have more benefits – Base Income, Incentive rewards and Sweetener rewards, just like the 2K Endorsement you’ve been utilizing. These are opportunities for fat paydays. The earnable Endorsements have either Incentive or Sweetener rewards.

New Endorsements will become available each week. Income from them can no longer be earned after they expire, so you’ll want to keep a close eye on the page to see what’s available.

Locker Breaker

Before even starting on the code for this one, our lead engineer asked us, “Whose locker are we breaking into?”

We had several answers. The owner’s. The commissioner’s. Or, it’s the secret locker where they keep all the NBA’s lost, mysterious relics, such as MJ’s golf clubs or Pat Riley’s hair gel.

Locker Breaker will become one of your frequent stops in the game. You’ll have four attempts to suss out the four-digit code to the Locker, presented in the style of a classic puzzle. Stop in every day, or multiple times per day, to try to earn rewards.

Rewards include one random collectible, which can be from any Season 7 theme. (Note: this is now the case in Tourneys, too. Season 6 themes are no longer among the possibilities – only S7 collectibles). The other possible Locker Breaker rewards are based on your tier.

As you play Locker Breaker, you’ll see objects on your previous attempts to help guide your next guesses. A green circle is a correct digit in the right slot. A yellow circle is a correct digit but in the wrong slot. A red X is a digit that isn’t part of the code. (Note: multiple slots can have the same digit.)

Box Out

Box Out is a new card-earning experience that mixes things up and offers more rewards.

In this new interactive pack, on one side, you’ll see a 4x4 “Jumbotron” field of unhidden cards, with additional pack rewards associated with the rows and columns of the field. On the other side, you’ll see a field of hidden cards, revealed when selected one-by-one.

When you upturn a hidden card that matches one of the cards in your field, you’ll earn that card. If you select an entire row or an entire column, you’ll also earn the associated pack reward. Complete the entire board, and you’ll walk off with Box Out’s Top Reward.

You’re limited in your number of picks, so choose wisely!
