It's Almost Tip-Off Time!

Season 8 of NBA 2K Mobile is right around the corner, and it’s time to Tip-Off.

This four-week event celebrates both the launch of Season 8 and also the start of the 2025-2026 NBA season, marking the league’s historic 80th year.

Starting on Wednesday, October 22nd through Wednesday, November 19th at 11am PT, generate HYPE, climb the HYPE track, and score big as the new season begins.

How It Works

The name of the game is HYPE, and your goal is to generate as much of it as possible. To earn HYPE, you’ll combine Tip-Off Tickets and Merch to create Ticket Packages, which will multiply and be traded in for that sweet, sweet, HYPE to help you up the HYPE track to earn rewards.

Tip-Off Tickets

Each Tip-Off Ticket represents a Week 1 NBA matchup between two teams. You can collect them from:

  • Event Packs

  • Draft Board

  • X-Large, Large, Medium, and Small Hype Packs

  • Top Plays Pack

Trade in up to six matching tickets at a time (you must use all that you own). The more tickets you trade, the more HYPE you’ll generate!

But there’s more:

If the combined record of the two teams on your tickets has more wins than losses in real life, you’ll earn bonus HYPE for each win.

Use Merch to Multiply your HYPE

Tickets alone won’t get you far, in fact, you’ll also need exactly two pieces of Merch to complete your trade-in.

Collect team-specific and generic merch items like Foam Fingers, Thunder Sticks, Jerseys, and Team Jackets, just to name a few, to amplify your HYPE.

Each piece of Merch acts as a multiplier (or a ‘merchiplier’, if you will), for your ticket’s HYPE value:

  • Generic Merch: applies its base multiplier

  • Team Merch: gives extra HYPE when it matches either team on your Tickets

Merch can be found in:

  • Event Packs

  • X-Large, Large, Medium, and Small Hype Packs

  • Limited-Time Events

So, if your Tickets feature the Lakers vs. Warriors and you’ve got a Lakers Jersey, that’s a perfect match, and extra HYPE being earned.

Climb the HYPE Track

Every Ticket Package you trade in pushes you further along the HYPE Track, unlocking rewards at each milestone.

Some milestones are special, requiring you to discover a specific Team Merch item before claiming that reward. Once you’ve found the required item, the reward unlocks and will become available once you hit that milestone, even if it isn’t hit until way later in your progress.

These special milestones feature the most valuable rewards in the event, so keep collecting and checking your progress.

Moments Worth Remembering

As the NBA’s 80th season tips off, relive its most exciting early highlights with five “Moment” cards, one for every position, that can be earned throughout the Hype Track.

Strategy Tips: How to Maximize Your HYPE

This event isn’t just about collecting; it involves strategy too.

Depending on your inventory and how real-life NBA games play out, you’ll need to decide when and what to trade in to earn the most HYPE possible.

  • Watch real NBA results: Teams with more wins than losses increase your ticket value.

  • Match your merch: Using team-specific merch that matches one of your ticket teams boosts your multiplier even higher.

  • Plan for milestones: Keep an eye on the HYPE track and make sure you’ve found the specific merch items needed for those special milestone rewards before reaching them.

With a smart approach, you can climb the HYPE track faster and secure those rewards!
